We went to Batibouw today, a fair for people with building- or rebuilding plans for their home.
We're starting to look around for 'our' home, get some ideas about the costs and stuff. So, no place better like Batibouw!
One thing is for sure! I found my bathtub!

Today was a challenging day!
I was moody all day long. I guess that tea didn't do its job last night...

I was really looking forward to meet up with my other boyfriend, Mr. Häagen-Dazs, since my real boyfriend isn't home tonight. He can turn my day around when we cuddle together in bed. 

Evening Tea Time

A rooibos tea with some sort of flower's leaves for a good night's sleep. 

I have been dreaming a lot these last few nights and I often talk myself wide awake. I'm not sleeping very well, if you can imagine. I hope this tea helps!

Fabrics all Around

I went to the fabric fair this morning.
A lot of babies were born these last few months (""YAAY""), so I had to buy towelling to make some bibs as a present.
Normally, I can't help myself and I buy more fabric than I need for my 'projects'. I have a huge pile of untouched fabric, stacked away in every corner of our apartment.
Today, I managed to control myself and I only bought the fabric I needed: The towelling and some light weight fabric to make a summer scarf.
But, I regret not buying the silk fabric with al the birdies...! Next time!
A blouse or a jumpsuit with birds, what do you think?

The Goodluck Party

Today was a very good day!
I went shopping and got home with a summer pants from CKS. It's made from a very light fabric and therefore very ideal for our trip to Thailand!

We are going to decide which citytrip we're doing after Banana's (one of my friends) graduation!

General Meeting

We had our general meeting today with work.
A two hour presentation with both interesting and boring topics.
It couldn't be over fast enough for me, because it was fitting day for my colleague! After the meeting, we rushed into the toilet to try on the dress and it fits perfectly! I have to make a little correction on the sleeves, but that's the only thing! My colleague is in heaven and she can't wait until its finished! When she's happy, I'm happy!
Now we are sitting all together, making jokes. Cozy!

Hot and Sweaty

Hot and sweaty! That's what my day off was like!
We had a gift voucher to redeem for a sauna visit.

There is a public sauna where we go to once every few months, but it wasn't on the list of where we could use the voucher.
It was good to try another environment (get out of the comfort zone), but I'm still convinced our regular place is the best! I had a great de-stress time, though!

Sushi

If there is one thing I love, it's sushi! I could eat this almost every day if I knew how to make it!
Japan is definitely in my top 3 of to do travel destinations and when I'm there, I want to learn the japanese kitchen. To me, it's magic, how they fill the sushi boat in just 'chopchopchop' a few seconds! I need to learn to do this myself! Maybe it's my challenge for 2014 ;-) !
In the mean time, I just eat sushi at the restaurant! Happy me!

Mylène Kitchen Fun

I just got home from a Mylène homeparty.
For those who don't know Mylène: It's a brand, commonly known for it's beauty products. What I didn't know, and you probably won't know either, is that Mylène has a 'Home and Living' brand. They offer you a wide range of detergents, bath and kitchen linen, underwear, etc. 
I'm a spoiled brat, because my mom still does my laundry, so laundry detergents were off the table for me. I just bought new underwear a few weeks ago (and much more attractive than the granny pants that were hanging at the homeparty), so they weren't necessary either. Because I wanted to do the lady who hosted the party a favor, I bought the 'Provence' (en Français) kitchen towels. Aren't they beautiful?

Kersepitje

I'm always cold!
Luckily I have my 'Kersepitje' (a cherry stone pillow)!
I once got it from my mom as a Christmas gift and it was the best gift ever!
One time, I put it in the microwave for too long, so I burned a hole in the fabric. Oops! But, no worries, I pimped my Kersepitje with Paddington Bear to cover it :-) !

Diner Party

Today we had a last-minute diner invitation from a friend. We had melon and seranoham for starter, chipolata with spinach potato mash and Häagen-Dasz for dessert.
Now we're having interesting conversations about my boyfriend's younger years so I have to go back and listen carefully!

Homemade cookies

I made some coconut cookies today! 

Looks like somebody couldn't wait until they were cooled off and took a bite from the one on the left.. Hope he burned his tongue!

World Nutella Day

Yesterday, I forgot to blog about the most important day of the year: World Nutella Day! Shame on me, because there's no other chocolate hazelnut spread better than Nutella!
I love everything that comes with it: Pancakes with Nutella, Nutella ice cream, crackers with Nutella, a spoon with Nutella, ...

We're out at home, because we can only store a jar in summer. There's no heating in our kitchen all day long and my Nutella gets hard as a rock :-( ... BUT, I have one stored at woooork! Tomorrow morning: Namnamnamnam!

Nothing to Report

Today was a very regular day. 
Nothing out of the ordinary happened, except for a loud yell on the street. When I went to our window to take a look, there was a bike on the driveway of our downstairs neighbours. But no one in sight. Strange...

Jules

My sister and her boyfriend are on a citytrip to Bruges, so I had to check on Jules, their cat. 
He's very attached to human company and hadn't seen anybody for over a day. When he heard the door, he came rushing in and started rubbing his face against my leg. He was so happy to see me! So we cuddled for an hour, while I watched some TV. At home, we don't have a TV and our kitty isn't as affectionate as Jules, so I enjoyed every second!

Here's a picture of the little rascal when he decided to dust off everything around the house. He is a better cleaner than I am!

A Truck with Character

I had a blast today!
My boyfriend's sister bought a house and so we had to move her stuff today.
I was ready to help. Since there was a lot of cleaning to do (and as you know from a previous blogpost, I don't like cleaning jobs), I volunteered to load the truck together with my boyfriend and his dad. 
"Sounds fun...", I hear you say. Well, it was, because the truck we had to load was their uncle's and it's like a hundred years old. I waited around the house while the boys picked up the truck. After a while, I heard a weird noise, so I went outside to check it out. There was the truck, going in reverse on the driveway.
So after we loaded the truck we began our 20km trip. I have to say, I almost peed my pants from laughing again (maybe I should get my bladder checked out?)!
My father-in-law turned the key of this, uuuhm, let's say "truck with character"... After growling a few times, he finally started. A black fog of exhaust fumes surrounded us. "Ok, first gear", this went quite alright. Second gear, not quite so. The truck began to shake and murmur, like you wouldn't believe! More gas = more shaking, so my father-in-law went mental on the gear stick! I think this was about the time that one drop of urine slipped out, together with some tears... After a few tries, he got the right gear and off we went... 10 km/h, 20 km/h, ... 45km/h! Wow, what race truck! Every time he shifted to another gear, the truck started rattling and shaking and I started to laugh. It was a fun ride and on a straight lane, his top speed was 70km/h!
What a day!

An Amateur's Nails

World Championship Cyclo-cross in Louisville... Boring!
So I started doing my nails and they turned out quite OK for a beginner.
I'm right handed, so I'm very lucky I didn't have to clean my left hand because I polished my fingers instead of my nails. 
I used the 'Alchemist Black', a matt black metallic nail polish.
The other colour is 'China Chintz', a pinkish champagne colour with a metallic effect. 
Both nail polishes are from Pronails, a Belgian brand.
Available at Elixir de Vie, my sister's beauty salon ;-) ! And just so you know, she can do your nails a whoooole lot better than I can!
