Mademoiselle Avec des Noiselles - Status: Test Started

As of now I am:
Une Mademoiselle avec des Noiselles!
Super excited!
It's too soon to determine if they're as comfortable as everyone says.
I will wear them for the next few days!
Fingers crossed, because I spotted some other colours at the shop too...

Rock The Boat
My boyfriend's best friend is leaving tomorrow for a two month trip at sea and we were invited to check out the boat he's travelling with. He's working for a German company at the Port of Antwerp, so it's not a de-stressing holiday he's facing. He will be working quite hard.
He's really looking forward to it and he wanted to do this for a very long time, so everyone went to the harbor to support him yesterday.
Boy, was I glad that I came along with everyone, because it was mind blowing! What a huuuuge boat, unbelievable! I felt a bit Titanic-panic, but it disappeared right away! They were loading the boat, so we weren't going to 'sail out' anyway... No fear needed! At least not until we went to check out the loading departments. OMG! They were so deep and I was standing there, on the edge, with my fear of heights, holding on tight to the rails. But it didn't take long until this fear faded away too.
So there I was... Invincible... On a huuuuge boat. I'm still excited about it!
Don't worry, I did my exercise for the day! We went to climb 'some' stairs to the top, to the steering cabin. We had an amazing view on Antwerp from up there! I was stunned how high this boat was!
After the captain's view, we also visited the engine room and the seaman's cabins.
We drank a Cola at his pretty roomy cabin (I expected a super small room) and asked millions of questions about Pirates, seasick puke and storms. I have learned so much about his job yesterday and we are all proud he's going to do this.
Good luck D., be safe and see you soon!
xL.

Shooeee Lucky
I just won a pair of Noiselle pumps :-) !

Noiselle, a Belgian brand of quality women's shoes, published a competition on Instagram and Twitter to win a pair of beautiful pumps! One picture should have explained why YOU needed an extra pair of pumps. The most original post won, and so I did!
Noiselle claims to design high quality leather shoes that fit perfectly and where you can dance the night away with!
I can collect my prize on Wednesday and I will try them on immediately for a test run.
More on Wednesday!
Here's my winning picture:

Caged Birdies
As a wedding present we decided to make origami birds with our money and hang them in a birdcage. The couple is married now, so very appropriate!
An original present for an original couple! Congratulations!

Sock Bun
I was looking for a nice hairdo for the wedding tonight on Pinterest and found a great tutorial on how to make the best bun!
Just type 'sock bun hair tutorial' on Youtube!
Here's a picture of my bun. Awful picture, but my boyfriend was driving kind of fast in a turn!

Birthday Shopping
It was pouring rain today! Awful weather, but my mom and my sister still wanted to go shopping at Maasmechelen for my birthday... Crazy women! They had to drag me to the car.
I didn't feel like shopping at all, but I managed to finally find the shoes I was looking for for my self made dress!
I also bought a sequin vest, a pair of UGG wedges and CK underpants.
My dad, mom and sister bought some stuff too. Our trunk is overloaded!
God didn't approve, us spending money, so he thought: "Why not sabotage their car?"
We started the car to go home and he started to shake badly! We can only reach 70km/h!
Flashback! I did this once before with my boyfriend's uncle's truck!
We panicked at first, because we were worried we wouldn't get home... But we could laugh about it. We couldn't take the speedway, so we're now driving secondary roads home!
We ordered sushi's... I hope we get back in time to pick them up.
Funny day!

Fix It
I didn't finish my dress today, because I need to know what shoes to wear for the finising touch... And I still don't have any shoes!
In stead I fixed a tear in my Blue jegging from Gas Jeans and made my summer pants from CKS more fitting.
I took a day of on Friday and I think I'm going to start on my sister's skirt.
See you tomorrow!

It was a hot (not super hot) day today, with a bit of rain.
When I stepped out of the office, to go home you could smell spring and the rain! I love it!

Sewing Expert Part 2
Because we didn't finish the whole bathrobe last time, my niece finished the seams and the embroidery.
Next week: the bathrobe's belt and its loops and then it's finished!

Acceptance
These last few weeks were sort of our steps to acceptance. We had to clean up the house for the buyer. We had to move furniture, we had to clean out the closets, we had to clean up the garden, ... We had to throw away all this stuff, with such great memories. I didn't know how much anger, pain and grief I still had left in me, since he died in June 2012. It made it all so very real.
I packed my things and I took one last look at the house. There were some tears rolling over my cheeks, I stepped into the car and decided I would never ever go back there.
My hero is gone and I will never get him back. It's such a cliché, but I will try to make him proud.
I miss him!
