Fake Fur

Yes! I finished this fake fur jacket for my colleague in one class! Hooray for me!

My Orange Colleagues

I had to go to our headquarters in The Netherlands today. 
My Dutch colleagues are so funny. I almost peed in my pants one time. Although our countries are next to each other and we all speak Dutch, our culture and vocabulary is totally different. It intrigues me. They use words and sayings that are so weird and they clearly feel the same way about us Belgians. If you go there, make sure you bring a Kleenex to wipe your tears from laughing.
I also love how they just tell you things straight. They don't beat around the bush. They tell you when you're wrong, like everyone, but they also tell you when you're right. When I was in school, I was just like that, but it was not much appreciated. They always told me to be more reserved, to always weigh my words. I simply don't have the time to weigh every word, but when I got my job, I had to. You can't say to your boss or colleagues that you don't like what they are doing and that you can do it a whole lot better or that they simply need to shut up and get on with it. My Dutch colleagues don't see the problem with that, so I feel very comfortable around them! I can just be myself and it's very much appreciated. I didn't hear this, they told me :-)

Clean House

I hate cleaning the house. I like to vacuum, but everything that comes with a bucket of water is for the boyfriend. I have other jobs around the house like cooking, cleaning the litter box, ... and a real man's job: pulling hair out of the sink. I'm tough! 
So Monday is cleaning day.

Today was a regular cleaning day. 
I made lasagna first. It was my third try! The first time my sauce didn't turn out so well and the second time my perfect lasagna fell on the floor while I was lifting it out of the oven. Clumsy me! 
Anyway, the lasagna was great! After we ate, we started cleaning.

I'm always grumpy when it's cleaning time, but afterwards I'm so happy! Everything is fresh and soft and CLEAN! I love it, and our kitty cat too. She always goes mental on the clean sheets. She starts rushing over the bed for a few minutes, her fur straight up. Quite funny!

I'm crawling into my soft and clean bed now!

Little Book of Calm: Tip 1

Here's a tip from my little book of calm. 
(People who know me: "She doesn't have a little book of calm! She has a big book of ADHD!") 
I have to admit, I have to use it more often.

My tip only works for people with long hair.
When you take a shower, let your hair fall over your ears and close your eyes. Let the water fall right on your head.
Concentrate. 
Listen to the water, it's like drops of rain. 


I picture myself in the jungle (with clothes on!). 
I'm in the middle of the pouring rain. 
I'm not cold, I'm super calm. 

Or, I picture myself sitting in front of an open fire, while it's pouring rain outside.  I'm safe inside, nice and warm. 
I love the sound of the rain.

At Least We Have a Smart Cat

How our day started out:
My handsome boyfriend stepped to his car to go to work and noticed his bumper and his licence plait was gone. He called the police, they came over to verify and we went to work with my car (Damaged by him just a few days ago. Talking about karma!). I thought the bumper may be at my work's parking lot, since I used his car yesterday, but nothing there. Unbelievable how someone would go through such trouble to steel a bumper.

We got home at 5 to find out that I accidentally locked the cat in the kitchen with all that fuss about the bumper. She turned the whole room upside down! At one point she had to poopoo... At least she was smart enough and knocked over the bag of cat litter. Then she did her poopoo and pipi. Smart and hygienic cat ;'-)! I can't stop laughing!

The Plan

We are making our year planner today!
So far, there are 5 weddings to look forward to, our Thailand trip and a city trip. Busy busy! I'm off to my calendar again!

Wednesday

Wednesday, my favourite day of the week! 
As you read in one of my first blog posts, I'm going to sewing school on Wednesdays...
Currently, I'm making a dress and a fake fur jacket for a colleague of mine. She's the maid of honour at a friend's wedding and she asked me to make her outfit.
Last lesson, I started with drawing and adjusting the patterns. Today, I've cut the pieces out of her fabric.
Exciting! I hope everything will turn out fine. She is my first customer after all. I can't afford any mistakes! 
Fingers crossed!

Murphy

Great day today!
I had a good talk with a colleague about my skills. Five minutes later another colleague came rushing in to claim the complete opposite and ruined my happy mood. "I'm here to demolish your capability to look at the positive side of life!"
An hour later, I got a major headache (again). 
Then I got home and got a call from my boyfriend to say he hit another car with MY car (actually my mother's) on the car park of the supermarket. 
I went inside, started to cook and forgot to boil the rice. After we ate, we did the dishes and I crushed my finger between the doors of our kitchen cabinet.
Murphy was my friend today, but at least the conversation with my first colleague was encouraging. I told him I started a blog and the reason behind it. His answer: "I think it's fantastic! You need to persist this idea, you will benefit from it and people around you will see the difference!" It put a big smile on my face! What a great day :-) ! Thanks, Mr S.!

Ovaries Test: Failed

A room full of kids, yelling and crying... It makes my ovaries crunch. Let's say I'm not the mothery-type. At least, not yet...
I've been trying to see something postive in children and I have to say that apart from having an excuse to eat everything when you're pregnant, I just can't see what the deal is with those brats. Everyone wants them, everyone has them. Are babies like candy?

Why the hell does everyone look at me like this: "Oink?", when I say I don't get along with children? They poop everywhere and any time, they cry whenever they feel like it, they annoy you constantly with stupid questions and they yell sooooo loud, that your ears just 'woop' fall off... (When I talk about it this way, it sounds a lot like me, apart from the pooping, off course!)

Anyway, this was a POSTIVE and a HAPPY blog. So, what have I done today that made me happy? I made a blog post about how irritating kids are :-)
No, really, I just sat 3 hours in the lobby of a swimming pool to subscribe screaming children for a swimming course, without having a panic attack. VICTORY!

For all you baby lovers out there: There is a day, in the far future off course, that I will turn over to the dark side. I will eat lots of food, get pregnantly fat, eat a bit more and then I will have lots and lots of babies and kitties too!

From Moody to a Smile (with a headache)

If you read my blog yesterday, then you know I've got the flu... 

Despite my sore muscles, my sore throat, my bloodshot eyes, my almost exploding head and my outbreaks of cold sweat, I went to work. (I hear you say "OMG, is she crazy?!") I needed to finish a very important file. Hope I scored some extra points with my boss there...

So, I came home, totally worn out, annoyed and with an even more severe headache... In short: moody. At least until I went through our mail and saw a large brown envelope. It immediately put a smile on my face. I thought: "YES! Frémans is going to look fabulous!"

What was in the envelope? A dog harness :-)

I'm sick! I've got the flu :-(
The doctor says I need bed rest for a couple of days. Not great either, because I watched all the new episodes of my favourite series!
The positive side? I've got 628 Facebook friends to recommend me a new series to watch :-)! *YAAAY*

In Love

My boyfriend is back from his snowboard trip!
I stayed with my sister for a week, because I didn't want to be alone.. I can't sleep without him :-) ! So I'm very glad he's home and sooo happy he didn't have an ugly moustache when he came in! He does that to tease me... Funny, but ugly. Looks like a weird porn director! Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the moustache, but I do have one of us! Cute!

Memories

I love visiting my grand parents house. Brings up a lot of great memories. It makes me miss my grandfather even more, but I'm glad that my grandmother is still with us. I cherish every moment!

The house is situated at the riverside of the 'Demer', a river running through a couple of towns. It's surrounded by a fabulous yard with numerous trees, rose gardens and other flowers.
Now it's kind of bald and cold looking outside at the trees and the river, but still very soothing. In spring and summer, it's stunning! All the scents and colours, I just love it!

First one..

My first blogpost this year..
As from today, I will post something every day. Sometimes a little post, sometimes a big one, but always something positive! I will do this for the whole year of 2013!
What a challenge! So here we go! 

I love the holidays! Lots and lots to eat and lots to celebrate with family and friends.
I spent new year's eve with my friends and had real fun. Always a good laugh with those two!
When I drove home this morning, I had the whole freeway to myself.
As I said.. Love the holidays! Just me and my music and hoping I won't get a speeding ticket!
